Travel Vaccinations and advice
Vaccinations
If you're planning to travel outside the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world.
Our practice nurses are available by appointment to offer medical advice regarding travel and vaccinations where appropriate.
Patients should have their travel health consultation at least 6-8 weeks before departure.
If you are travelling less than 6 weeks from the departure date you will need to contact a travel clinic
- Direct to travel clinic for assessment and immunisations:
- Boots Shrewsbury 01743 351311
- Boots Telford 01952 291351
- Boots Wrexham 01978 264293
- Boots Chester 0151 705 3223
Patients can request their previous immunisation record to take along to the travel clinic or you can sign up to the Surgery APP where you can view your immunisation history.
If patients are travelling more than 6 weeks ahead please read up on what vaccinations you will require by accessing the web links to the right of this page. Patients and children are required to complete a travel questionnaire each. Please call the surgery to request a link for the pre travel questionnaire to be sent, once we have received the questionnaire(s) our nurses will review the information and make contact in due course.
We will only provide NHS vaccinations only.
We do no provide yellow fever vaccination. The nearest yellow fever vaccination clinic is Welshpool Medical Practice.
Which travel vaccines do I need?
You can find out which vaccinations are necessary or recommended for the areas you'll be visiting on these websites:
Some countries require proof of vaccination (for example, for polio or yellow fever vaccination), which must be documented on an International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP) before you enter or when you leave a country.
