Patient Support Administrator

Pay: £12.71 per hour

🕒 Hours: Full-time preferred (37 hours); we welcome part-time applications and are open to job-sharing arrangements.

Work location: Montgomery or Newtown (Branch- St Davids Surgery)

Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and conscientious Patient Services Administrator. You must be flexible and adaptable to a varied and high-volume workload. The ability to multi-task and to work under pressure is essential.

Working knowledge of using Microsoft Office applications, an understanding of GDPR and maintaining strict confidentiality in the healthcare setting are all essential together with, excellent organisational and communication skills, flexibility, good time management and the ability to work as part of a team.

1. Provide high quality administrative support to the practice team.

2. Accurately prepare letters and other documentation as needed.

3. Process incoming and outgoing correspondance such as letters, emails, insurance forms (including sorting and routing). 

4. Ensure telephone calls and enquiries are dealt with in a courteous and timely manner.

5. Action tasks as required.

6. Liaise with patients, members of the public, practice and primary and secondary care.

7. Complete filing, send e-mails and undertake photocopying and scanning of letters.

8. Book in, amend and cancel patient appointments in line with the practice policies ensuing optimum efficiency of the appointment system.

9. Register new and temporary patients and update records as required.

10. Summarising and readcoding of medical records.

11. Greet and direct patients and visitors accordingly.

12. Inform patients of the relevant charges for private services, accept payment and issue receipts if required.

13. Undertake start-of-day and end-of-day procedures, ensuring telephone systems are correctly diverted as required, and that room schedules and the blackboard are kept up to date
